UHY research showed that, in Brazil, employers pay 57.56% of salary in taxes, while the world average is 25%

The international network of accounting and consulting UHY released a ranking that shows that Brazil is the country that most imposes tax on employees. The study looked at 25 countries where the company operates.

According to the research, the global average of extra cost is 25% of annual wages collected in taxes. In Brazil, this percentage goes to 57.56%.

As some fees may vary in accordance with the salary paid in the country, the survey produced rankings for annual salaries of US$ 30,000, US$ 75,000 and US$ 300,000. Brazil has led (and stayed too much above the world average) in all the three categories.

To the highest range, for example, the research has shown that Brazil has a tax burden 40 times higher than the lowest country, Denmark. While the Danish employers pay US$ 4,332 per year in taxes per employee who receives US$ 300,000 in Brazil, the extra cost is US$ 172,667.
